Suradej Yasawat, chairman of the Thailand’’s senate committee on tourism, said he had contacted Disney Theme Park Development Division of Walt Disney Co, to propose the building of a theme Park. The company has supposedly shown interest in further discussions.

Disney has inquired about building in Thailand in the past. It has decent tourist traffic and cheap labor. This could make for a lower cost alternative to the Tokyo park.

According to Mr Suradej, Disney will decide within two weeks if it will continue with a feasibility study.
