At the Disneyland Resort, around 2,300 guests were awaken and evacuated from their rooms early Wednesday after one of the gigantic artificial Christmas trees on the ground floor caught fire about 3 a.m. Nobody was hurt or injured in the evacuation or the fire. The Disneyland Guests spent three hours in the hotel’s convention center, in the theaters at Disney’s California Adventure theme park and at a nearby hotel before returning to the 745-room Grand Californian Resort.

By the afternoon it was reported that business was operating as usual and things were going smoothly. In fact the hotel was already booked for another sold out night although part of the lobby was strictly off limits so Disney workers could replace carpet and repaint the damaged and burnt ceiling.
