So, for those of us in the Midwest, we celebrate a nice little Holiday on December 5th called St. Nick. I am not sure if everyone does it in the U.S. but I know it is a midwest thing. But what is St. Nick? It is a day where Santa makes a small trip to you and put some wonderful small goodies in your Stocking before Christmas to give you a hint at what lies later in December. Sometimes you may even get coal.
BUT I AM GIVING YOU DISNEY FANS A LIMITED ST. NICK GIFT ONCE AGAIN THIS YEAR!!! You have asked all year about my LP Transfer I did for the Mickey’s Christmas Carol LP from 1974.
This LP is FAR BETTER AND SUPERIOR IN MY OPINION from the Cartoon Classic. The Classic is great, but this LP offers items that that make it a Disney Classic in its own right. Original Music that are memorable and it even had some other goodies. I think when they made the Cartoon classic in 1982, they should have used at least the songs in this LP.
The LP was recorded by the Disney Players and told the story of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol through the story of Scrooge. The LP offered many items the cartoon did not. For one it had all new and original music for the tale. It featured 6 new songs:
“Money,” by Scrooge and Mickey
“This is how Christmas Ought to Be,” by Scrooge
“Being Tight is not all Right,” by Goofy
“Under the Mistletoe,” The Disney Chorus
“We have Love,” Mickey
and “What a Glorious Christmas Morning.” The Disney Chorus
The LP was released years before the cartoon classic from the 80s in 1974 and also featured a different ghost lineup than we all know. It feautred Merlin as the the Ghost of Christmas Past and The Witch from SNow White as the Ghost of Christmas Future. The story is one I have loved for a long time but it has never been released on CD or even Tape.
So now for my St. Nick gift to you. Follow the link below and I have transferred the whole LP as an MP3 for your holiday pleasure. Please let us know our efforts weren’t taken for granted.
Please post and let us know if you like this and maybe I will transfer other Disney Christmas LPs to MP3 since these are lost treasures.
BE SURE TO GET THIS WHILE YOU CAN…I WILL ONLY BE KEEPIG IT UP FOR A LIMITED TIME!!!! SO HURRY, AND PLEASE LET US KNOW OUR EFFORTS ARE APPRECIATED!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS…Yes, Merry Christmas (not holiday).

Thank you very much for once again posting Scrooge! It’s wonderful to be able to hear it again after all these years.
Please, please, please post ‘Disney’s Merry Christmas Songs’ (29-track, 2-LP set). I listened to this as a kid, and would dearly love to add these songs to my Christmas music collection.
Once again, thank you very much, and Merry Christmas!

This morning, my cat killed my eight track tape of Disney’s Dickens Christmas Carol. I have had this tape since I was a very small child, and it was a treasured part of our holidays. A search of ebay did me no good, finding only the 1982 version. Thank you so much for posting this mp3. I was devastated- it’s not truly christmas til we break this out and listen. Thanks to your post, we still have one of our family traditions.

I am glad we could continue your family’s tradition. I agree, on ebay all you can find is the 1982 record based off of the cartoon classic, but the ‘74 version is my childhood as well.
Glad to spread the Christmas Cheer.

Oh Please put this back on. We bought the movie for my son, but I realized it was nothing like the old story my sister and I used to listen to with all the music. I found it on You Tube, but I want to have it on my computer
Please if you can, I can’t seem to get it… I’m just a bit late!!!
