Can you think of any prime time show in the history of television that was so jam packed with stars and legends? Sure a show might have a guest, but the Muppet Show got them to perform. They integrated them and based the show around them. Which leads to some amazing moments that you will not see anywhere else

Besides the fact that you have not lived until you have seen Kermit the Frog share the screen with Don Knotts the show is filled with those aforementioned amazing TV moments. Some of the stand-outs include John Cleese as a pirate on “Pigs in Space” and Steve Martin auditioning for the show with “Ramblin’ Guy”.

Extras
- The show has a few interesting interviews with the Muppets, which are cute, but for hardcore fans of the show its hard to listen to Muppets without their original voices.

- Keep Fishin’ the music video by alt-rock poster boys Weezer. A great addition to the Muppet canon and in my opinions one of the greatest music videos ever made.

- The Muppet’s Valentines Special - This box set is worth buying if only to get your hand on this January 30, 1974 broadcast. This interesting artifact is an interesting look at a proto-Muppet Show guest starring Mia Farrow.

The show’s plot revolves around a Muppet named Wally trying to come up with a script about Love. Since he can’t up with a script that says, “True Love”, he asks Mia Farrow and the Muppets for help. Of course music ensues:

* The Muppets perform the opening number, “Love is a Simple Thing.”
* Farrow and Thog, a huge Muppet monster, perform a duet rendition of “Real Live Girl.”
* Farrow sings “Those Endearing Young Charms” to Rufus.
* The entire cast sings “We Got Love.”

Summary
The Muppet Show Season 2 on DVD looks great and sounds amazing. If you are a fan of the show or are looking forward to introducing a new person to the show this is the box set to get. Smart, anarchical musical comedy for all ages. They just don’t make ‘em like this anymore. Run out and get it or click the link below and order it
