Well for all those young ones out there, and adults too it seems that High School Music 2 has hit the air earlier than expected in some areas for you to enjoy. Rachel Courtien, 12, and two friends were getting ready to watch Hannah when HSM2 was an option for the In-Demonad choice as well.
It seems to really keep the hype going that Disney released this pre-view screenign early to Cablevision, which makes Disney Channel on Demand available and also to Verizon. I think this is a great ploy to limit the release and get buzz out there by word of mouth campaign. The first film was such a sleeper TV hit that earned over $100 Million and it is already in talks for a possibly High School Music 3.
Now for my take on the films themselves. Although I am older, I am glad Disney had HSM be such a hit. It was something positive, simple, and enduring for the new generation of kids out there. Lately so much garbage has been on TV, why not update the classic story of Grease…with a hint of Romeo and make the film. It reminded me of the Golden Days of Disney Pictures when they left a lasting impression and most of all……ORIGINAL MUSIC FINALLY.
What do you think? I think love it or hate it…it was much needed for Disney and the only thing is to hope they don’t beat it dead.
