Wow, I do have to say this October is gearing up to be a fun time. From Disney’s Halloween Celebrations to the annual family Halloween films on Disney Channel and of course, going to haunted houses…I am in awe this season. This holiday has grown so much over the years it is crazy. Well, enough of my mind boggling of this October and back to the reason you came back today.

The Annual realdisney’s Halloween Treat continues today with one of the classics from Disney and including one of the top crooners of that era. It’s none other than The Legend of Sleepy Hollow LP. This record was a narrated adaption of the cartoon classic we all know and love. Bing Crosby narrates us through this tale of Ichabod and the Headless Man. The best part of the LP to me was always the descriptions that aren’t in the cartoon classic. Items like speaking of a horse being strung from a tree, and all the way to how the Headless Man attacks Ichabod. It is similar to the cartoon but does vary in the details only some will notice like myself.

The original LP was released in the 60’s and was featured with the story of Rip Van Winkle as well. Now this is one version of the Headless Man song that remains to be a Halloween staple, but I will also be posting an original recording of this song also by Bing that wasn’t recording in the Disney Studios but instead done as part of a radio appearance. So keep your mouse ready for that one.

Until tomorrow….Happy Haunting from your Ghost Host,

Disneyana
