The July | August 2001 edition of AARP’’s Modern Maturity magazine features an excellent article, entitled “Goofy for Mickey,” about why Walt Disney World isn”t just for kids. It tells the story of Disney obsession beyond that of most of you reading this site… it’’s amazing what some people will do… not that there’’s anything wrong with it. In fact, it may make a few of us a little jealous.
You can read the article at Modern Maturity’’s web site, here:\r

As most of you probably know, the new Dreamworks movie Shrek pokes fun at many Disney characters and concepts. One of the funniest moments in the film comes when Shrek and Donkey approach Lord Farquaad’’s castle. Dreamworks pulls off a hilarious takeoff of Disney mascots, line management, and It’’s a Small World.\r

\nRecently spotted in stores are action figures made by the amazing McFarlane Toys of this very moment that may interest Disney fans (I know I”ll probably buy one). There is a 6-inch figure of the mascot, a line rope, and a sign that reads “45 minute wait from here.” This figure is also available in a 3-inch figure set, along with other 3-inch figures including the Small World-style “information” kiosk featured in the film.
Here are photos of the figures:
