The hot attraction at Disney World’’s Disney-MGM Studios is “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire - Play It,” which just opened in a 650+ seat theater. Everyone in the audience plays in this half-hour version of the show, held once every hour. There are no cash prizes for the contestents, but those who reach one million points (not dollars) get a trip for two to New York to see the actual game show. Along the climb up to the million point level, other prizes are awarded, such as collectible pins, hats, shirts, and even a leather jacket. The phone-a-friend lifeline is different from the actual show — the Disney contestent gets to “phone a stranger” either outside the studio on Mickey Avenue or upstairs in the studio building. So far, at least two lucky contestants have won the grand prize, neither with a helpful phone-a-stranger.

The new Disney video game, Disney’’s Atlantis: The Lost Empire - Trial By Fire, looks to target a different kind of audience than previous games. This game is going to be a first person shooter, with both single and multi-player gameplay modes available. In the game, players will get together to explore the lost continent of Atlantis (just like the movie).

Disney is also developing the Ultimate Ride Game. Players will design rides and then ride them. Rumor has it that this game will be a gateway for Disney to finally officially release virtual versions of their most popular rides. Check the Ultimate Ride website for updates.

USC has posted some great photos of the early stages of Disneyland. The photos show construction shots of the castle, the Matterhorn, and a few shot of older rides, etc. Their are 16 photos in total. One is a great shot of Walt driving the Viewliner. Check out the site here
